I can’t even begin to tell you how incredibly cold it was the day of Nora and Danny’s engagement session. What started out as a beautiful October morning ended with near freezing temps, and 40 mph wind gusts—it was the coldest weather I’ve shot in since Sarah and Garrett’s April 1, 2017, wedding when the beautiful end-of-March spring weather gave way to an unexpected snow storm, 20-degree temps, and huge wind gusts that numbed our fingers. All that cold meant our normal 1 ½ to 2 hour session was squeezed into 45 minutes so we could all hurry up and get warm (it also meant moving my focus button became reallllllly difficult). Thankfully, Danny and Nora have a natural, quietly beautiful chemistry, and they were both awesome sports about the weather. I couldn’t wait to get home to see their images—and it turns out it’s true what they say: cold really does make the bride look even more beautiful.
